Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf & Country Club
About
Enjoyable 27-hole parkland course from Peter Thomson
Situated just 25 minutes from KL city centre in the northern part of the royal town of Shah Alam, Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf & Country Club is a 27-hole layout designed by Peter Thomson that winds through naturally undulating terrain dotted with trees, lakes and Thomson's signature pot bunkers, rolling fairways and elevated greens.
The Sultan/Alam Shah nines are used for top-level competitions, with the memorable par-5 Dragon Hole the pick. It plays from an elevated tee to a narrow fairway, requires a second shot over a wide creek, before a tricky approach to an elevated, well-bunkered green. The maintenance standards are generally good, and the greens are some of the truest and fastest in Malaysia.
Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah is also referred to as "The Home of Night Golfing" and was the first golf course in Malaysia to be floodlit for night play. The Mediterranean-style clubhouse offers several other facilities, including a well-stocked pro shop, a café terrace with an outdoor grill, and a health center with a sauna and Jacuzzi.
