About
Enjoyable 27-hole course with good scoring opportunities
Located just 15 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Kuala Lumpur, Nilai Springs Golf & Country Club is a 27-hole championship layout made up of three nines, the Mango, Island and Palm Courses. The course makes the most of the site’s natural features and contours, with an existing stream serving as the primary water hazard on numerous holes. Wide, undulating fairways mean there's margin for error off the tee, but there's enough water and sand to keep you on your toes.
After a fairly sedate opening series of holes, where bunkers either side of the green being the main hazard on each, things toughen up towards the end of the Mango Course, with water in play on the four closing holes, and forced carries required at the par-3 6th, off the tee at the par-5 7th, and on approach at the 9th.
The Island Course continues the theme, opening with a long par-5 whose fairway is split in two by a large lake. A couple of straightforward par-4s follow before you reach the memorable par-3 13th, which plays to what is effectively an island green, a trio of bunkers awaiting anything long.
The best holes are a pair of dogleg lefts. The perfect distance is required off the tee at the 15th if you want to take the twin bunkers just short of the green out of the equation. Even better is the 17th, a long par-5 that plays to an actual island green; it's a brave move to try to make it in two.
The Palm Course is arguably the most fun, and features a great pair of long par-5s - the 20th zig-zags this way and that to a green surrounded by bunkers, while the 23rd is a dogleg that tightens to a green with sand traps both sides. There's not too much water to contend with, forced carries at the 19th and 22nd aside, so there's ample opportunity to rack up a decent score.
Away from the course, there are extensive practice facilities, including a driving range and a large putting and chipping green, and the clubhouse offers everything the visiting golfer could ever need. With reasonable green fees and the chance to score well, a round at Nilai Springs Golf & Country Club makes for an excellent choice on any golf holiday in Kuala Lumpur.
Reviews
This golf course condition are not up to par.
It is really sad when I arrive this golf course and look out the golf course feel it is more like for beginner golf course. No staff helping to put my golf bag into the golf cart and at last finding the staff to ask if they have any caddy, The reply is NO! So we drive the golf cart to the starter which golf course we can start to play. After the back nine starting and the rainstorm duration more that 45 minutes,. By the time we finished it was very late and back to hotel at night time.A perfect place
