Monterez Golf & Country Club
About
Affordable and challenging parkland course an hour from KL
Located an hour outside Kuala Lumpur, the Peter Dalkeith Scott-designed Monterez Golf & Country Club is an affordable and challenging par-71 parkland course featuring narrow, undulating fairways, numerous ponds and lakes, and sloping Tifdwarf greens. It's much tougher than its 6,743 yards would suggest, and a water heavy opening four holes might have you on track for a high score, but it offers an enjoyable challenge for those that can look past the odd scorecard blemish.
Away from the course, there's a two-tier driving range as well as a practice green for those who with to hone their skills before taking on the course. There's even lessons available from the inhouse professional.
The clubhouse combines Mayan civilization architecture with modern design, the former evident from the murals in the clubhouse as well as the Monterez logo and landscape. There's a pro shop offering everything you need to buy (or rent), a pub, a golfers' terrace, and numerous sports facilities including swimming pools, and tennis courts.

Decent golf course
Decent golf course but green maintenance needs to be improved. Design a challenging course that is so good for average golfers.Course Info
