Kota Permai Golf & Country Club
About
Prestigious award-winning championship course amongst Malaysia's best
Recipient of numerous accolades since its establishment in 1998 and six-time winner of Malaysia’s Best Golf Course at the Asia Golf Awards, Kota Permai Golf & Country Club is championship standard 18-hole golf course that has played host to numerous professional tournaments including the Asian Tour Volvo Masters. A top-tier course from designer Ross Watson, it's a challenging yet fair layout with Japanese Zoysia fairways and undulating Bermuda greens that are always maintained to the highest standards.
The course has a pleasingly natural feel, with mature trees and abundant wildlife on view. Scenic water hazards and sculptured bunkering offer a constant threat as you navigate a tantalising mix of stunningly beautiful holes designed to test golfers of all abilities.
After a long par-5 with numerous large bunkers lining the fairway, water comes seriously into play on most of the rest of the front nine. The par-4 2nd, arguably the most beautiful hole on the course (which is saying something), requires a drive that must skirt the edge of the water and clear the large bunker in the middle of the fairway, followed by an approach over water.
A pair of gorgeous par 3s, the 4th and the 6th, both require water carries to greens that are heavily guarded by sand, while a series of very large fairway bunkers on the last two holes of the opening nine ensure you have to be careful off the tee.
The long par-4 15th, rated the second hardest hole on the course, requires a long and accurate drive as out of bounds and bunkers lurk on the right, and a watery grave is on the left, and the same lake is a factor as you play towards the 16th green.
After the short 17th, where a straight shot should see you putting for birdie, the finishing hole is a superb 565-yard par-5 that plays from an elevated tee offering a panoramic view of the course. A tough drive must find safety between water on the right and a number of very large bunkers on the left, and more sand close to the green means you should play this as a genuine par-5 rather than getting over-ambitious.
Away from the course, the facilities are of an exceptional standard, including a two-tier driving range, excellent practice greens for chipping, putting, and bunker play, as well as a golf academy. The remodelled clubhouse continues the theme of excellent, with ornate locker rooms, a well-stocked pro shop, and great food and cold beer on offer at the Golfers Terrace overlooking the golf course.
Overall, Kota Permai Golf & Country Club more than deserves its accolades and should form part of any Kuala Lumpur golf holiday.

This is a valuable golf courses, the green velocity is a little fast , most of holes has a very good scenery , really need to spend time to play"One of the best in Malaysia"
Played here recently and the course was in great shape except for as few buggy tracks on the fairway. Apart from that the clubhouse facilities were pretty good. The course is a challenge but most people should cope with it."Excellent Maintenance"
