Picturesque and enjoyable 18-hole course on Carey Island
Located on beautiful Carey Island, just 45 minutes from downtown Kuala Lumpur, Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort is an 18-hole parkland/links-style golf course set in a relatively flat, picturesque natural environment of mangrove forests, tidal flats and abundant wildlife. Close-cut rough, gentle greens and a couple of short par 5s means there's a chance to post a decent score if you can stay out of the bunkers and lakes that dot the course, notably at the par-4 18th which requires a 220-yard carry off the tee.
Away from the course there are reasonable practice facilities including a driving range, and while the unspectacular clubhouse features the usual amenities, if you're looking for a meal you're better off waiting until you get back to Kuala Lumpur. Nonetheless, Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort offers an enjoyable and affordable experience on any Kuala Lumpur golf holiday.
